After Christmas

We've been hanging at home playing with our new Christmas stuff. The twins have been enjoying there new dollhouse and my little pony stuff. I love they way they lay on their bellies when they play. Our house is generally cold due to our strange heating system which I won't go into now, so their extra bundled for warmth.
I love this picture they look so cute. We got the WII for Christmas so I'm basically trying to keep the big kids from playing 24/7. We've gone to see a couple movies and are pretty much hanging out in our jammies all day. The twins went to a movie for the first time. ( they did go see a show at McMenamens but that doesn't count because its not a real theater.) They did pretty good for about half of it then it was touch and go, but made it the whole time, probably to the dismay of the other movie goers. We're also experiencing the return of Noah's mystery fever. It's mainly just a miserable fever nothing else, as long as I keep medicine in him he's ok.We did get away to a Blazer game. I got Nate the tickets for his birthday. The Blazers won and it was a lot of fun.
Unfortunately in the 2nd half Noah accidently dumped nachos all over Kelsey's lap. There was a lot of drama and tears. But she recovered. Happy New Year!

Our Christmas Celebrations X4

Things start out quiet enough. A few days before Christmas me and my brothers head to my moms for an early celebrations allowing my mom to spend Christmas with my Grandma out of state. This year it was even quieter since my brother that lives near Eugene opted out for fear of the impending storm. It was a good move seeing as we barely made it ourselves.

Look at the joy on Sydney's face. Aubrey is wearing her newly opened jammies never mind its 1:00 in the afternoon. We all exchange gifts and the kids are thrilled to have something to tie them over for a few more days. Thats my sister-in-law in the background with my mom.

On Christmas eve we get together with Nates family, three sisters, one brother, his parents, his brother-in-laws parents and a total of 14 grandchildren. Every year the kids dress up and reenact the nativity. Kelsey 's reprising her role of Mary and Noah made his debut as Joseph, much to the dismay of Kelsey. The twinsies are of couse...angels. (theres always a couple who don't wanna dress up.) It always amazes us how they sit there so seriously and quietly while we read from Luke and sing songs. Its awesome!

Sydney's hugging her new dolly it has a twins sister for Aubrey. The dolls move, talk and interact with each other, its pretty cool. Thats makes 50 dolls in my home, they're literally taking over. (remeber that movie Chuckie ?)
Then it Chirstmas morning at our house. The kids didn't get up too early and they were pretty patient about taking turns. It was a great morning and the kids were really happy with what Santa brought.
See how happy they are. Noah got tons of Lego and pokeman cards just what he's asked for. Kelsey got clothes, boots and littlest pet shop, and the twins got a bunch of my little pony stuff.

The grand finale is at my Dad's Christmas night for dinner. My stepsisters come with their families, we eat like pigs and finish exchanging gifts. My Dad got us a WII which were having loads of fun with. At the end of the night Noah asked if we were going to go over to anyones else house to open presents. Good Grief..true meaning of Chirstmas anyone?

Merry Christmas

I told you I was determined to get a perfect Christmas picture and I think I did pretty good.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas full of family, food and frantic parents wrapping gift until midnight Christmas Eve.

My kids were very pleased with their loot, we had a great day. In case your wondering I did try to get Kesley to get a plaid dress or even red to coordinate but alas she is 9 and is all of sudden very picky about her clothes.

Snowed In

Nate can't stay still inside the house so he went out and shoveled a track all over the backyard for the doggie. He felt sorry for him because whenever we'd let him out he'd get buried in the snow, sink and could barely move. It's actually pretty entertaining. Sorry dash.
We had no power most of yesterday and yes we are buried. This is our driveway, looking at our house. My van is safely parked in the garage staying cozy and warm, just like me and kids.

Our poor snowman is drowning in snow and his hat looks a sombraro...Feliz Navidad. Wow thats a lot of snow!

Look how cute our puppy looks riding in the truck. He's been spending a lot of time inside lately and when I say inside I mean the laundry room. nate's been having fun pulling other cars out of ditches and such in his manly truck, I think it makes hime tough.

Snow Dayz

No school for the last week means the kids are gonna get a LONG winter break. Once we finally got some decent snow Nate took the kids out sledding, a favorite past time amoung the local on the mountain.

Before we had so much snow you couldn't even walk in the backyard Kelsey made a little snow man...isn't he cute.
Here's the view from our back window. The crazy thing is we have even more snow now. Like a foot and a half. With all the trees its like a winter wonderland up here it is purrdy!

See what I mean, its amazing we had about this much snow last year but it still amazes me how deep it is. I was feeling pretty cooped up all week then my hubby in his truck took me out and about. We went shopping one day and then to my moms for an early Christmas before she goes out of town. It was crazy icy, we watched cars slide all over the place. I was feeling nervous but we made it and all I know is I don't have to give my talk today because they cancelled church... and that makes me happy!

The Sad, Dark, Night

It's not all cookies and caroling over here we experienced a little mishap the other night. I was was sitting quietly at the computer the kids were all tucked in with visions of sugarplams dancing in the head, when thud. I can laugh now but at the time it was very upsetting because at that moment the last thing I wanted to do was redecorate the tree. So Nate seeing my tears promptly put the tree back up and went about decorating.
Only a couple ornaments broke. I did eventually help once I realized it wasn't the end of the world. The Tree does look a little rough, but oh well! And NO Nate wouldn't get out of the way for me to take a picture, but honestly I didn't mind, I quite enjoy his backside. Its always been a favorite of mine. Sorry too much information!

Holiday Baking

It's that time of year again. My mom came up to help make fudge, cookies and a variety of other treats, while the snow fell outside. Kelsey's becoming a great little helper and she's turning into quite the little poser. Grandpa decided the twins should help too, shorty after the picture was taken they we whisked away so as to keep me from totally losing my mind!
Grandpa was on twin duty while we baked, he must of read them 50 books. Aubrey's sticking her tongue out. Sidenote: whats up with girls hair, the sad part is I actually did it that day!
Here I am, smiling. I admit I was a little grumpy this day. A couple hours of sleep the night before will do that to you, so my heart wasn't really into it like other years, sorry mom. Decorating is the highlight of the day, too bad there's more sprinkles on the plate and the floor than on the cookies. We delievered 6 plates of goodies to neighbors and friends, thats the highlight for me!

Decorating the Tree

Before we start the kids have to get out all the ornaments and sort which ones are theres because those are the ones they get to put on the tree. Its the true spirit of Christmas, ya know "that ones mine" sort of thing. The twins thought this was great because half the mess was already done for them.

See how happy Aubrey is to have new toys to play with. I love the way she makes the people, animals, snowman or santas talk to each other. What a Ham!

Not to be outdone by her older siblings, Sydney wanted to stand on the stool to help. All the kids actually did pretty good hanging up the ornaments and evenly distributing them around the tree .
Now this would of worked for my Christmas Card picture but Kelsey ad Noah are in the PJ's and remember I have those unrealistic expectations. ? We had a good time decorating, I was just a little tense, the tree turned out good. Noah is feeling better, unfortunately theres no school because the roads are too icy. So I'm off to find a Christmas craft to entertain the family with.

Home Sick

I'm taking a break from my regularly scheduled Christmas pictures to update you on my life. I mean it is called the Kelly Chronicles right? Today is day three of Noah home sick. He just has a fever, nothing else. He's also tired with little appetite. With medicine he's pretty much fine, its just when it wears off the fever comes back on. The first day it was ok and the twins liked having their buddy home. Then it started to interfere with my plans, so I'm feeling kinda stuck at home trying to keep the house clean because in between fevers he helps make messes!

Here's Kelsey with a friend, now she's sick. Apprently after two days of Noah being home she decided to join the fun. But she's a different sick, sore throught, cough, runny nose, that sorta thing. Please don't let me get itI have too much to get done to be sick!

The girls so far so good. Their currently enjoying dress-up which I love because its adorable. Today the role of Snow White is being played by Sydney Perry.

Aubrey wore this half the day, who cares if its 30 degrees outside, it's too cute! I have high hopes that one of my twins will be into dance, ballet anything. Kelsey's brief stint at age four just didn't do it for me because let's face it, it all about what I want. Have a great weekend everybody!

Getting our tree

We had perfect weather for picking out a tree Saturday it was great. We went to the same place we went last year $5 a tree, not to shabby. Kelsey loves to hold the twins like this, she's only almost dropped them once?!

Nate took our walkie talkies just in case we got seperated in our search. Noah thought this was way cool and proceeded to hide behind the trees and spy on us then he'd dissapear to the outer regions of the tree farm. I found out later he also went to the bathroom while roaming the farm hopefully no one saw him. BTW There's two trees in the back of the truck because ones my moms.
Don't be fooled that furry faced mountain man is indeed my husband. I didn't mind the beard at first (I'm more of a goatee women) but now it's been a few months and I'm realizing theres a fine line between sexy scruff and shaggy. I'm hoping it goes after Christmas but I think Nate has other plans.

Sydney was very happy and cooperative this day. Aubrey was not. Probably still tramatized by the santa thing. Anyway, Aubrey didn't want to walk and had to be carried, she wouldn't hold her sister hand in the picture or smile, I believe her stubborn streak comes from her brother!

Here's my mom and stepdad with the cooperative twin, thats the great thing about twins if ones not happy just play with the other one. They come with us every year, except the year we cut one down in the mountatins. It was great to have them along to help is navigate the horse apples on the ground. (not to be confused with with edible apples)

Breakfast with Santa

First of all, is it weird that I got the most comments ever when I was deleberatlety Not blogging. Whatever. Look who finally made her way to the computer after over a week. WOW. Life's been busy and I'm working on various Christmas projects (your not the only one Carrie) that are taking me away from more important things. like blogging. So lets review. Saturday morning was our annual Breakfast with Santa. We've been going every year for 8 years. Despite Aubreys cheesy grin she adamently refused to sit on Santa lap so she sat on sisters. Sydney was bribed with the candy cane. Which is weird because Aubrey's usually the more outgoing one?????

The picture of the four kids was almost good enough for the Christmas card photo but Sydney wasn't smiling and I have high (unrealistic) expectations ok? Kelsey thought she was getting to old for Santa, that silly girl! Thats the same santa it was when Kelsey was 2, I can''t believe he's still kickin. My mom and stepdad came this year, afterward we got our Christmas tree but you'll have to wait for those photo I've already spent an hour catching up on my emails and need to get dressed!

I'm sure I'll be back soon I have some of our fun and not so fun Christmas traditions coming up that I look forward to sharing with you all!

Twinology 101 Part 2

For a definition of Twinology see a previous post.
In some cases but not all one of the twins will be more submissive. In my case it is Sydney, she is also very silly and sweet. She's very eager to please and will often bring things to her sister like blankets, ba-ba's or other various items no doubt in some desperate attempt for approval and acceptance. Which she rarely gets instead she's often rewarded with her hair being pulled or a whack in the face. Sydney is also very concerned with where her other half is or what she's doing she loves giving her hugs and kisses which once again Aubrey treats her kinda like an annoying puppy(or pesky little sister) getting in her way.

Case in point: Bitemark on Sydney's arm. Unfortunately the picture doesn't do the bitemark justice. Keep in mind the picture was taken like 6 hours later. It occured during Sacrament meeting while the girls were jocking for postition around a coloring book...Sydney lost (obviously). The funny thing was we were sitting on a side bench so I put Aubrey in time out against the brick wall and she did it.
Yes, the many faces of Aubrey, clearly the more dominant twin, she's also older,(by 2 min) apparently more terrirorial, and more outgoing. She's also very fun but a little more serious and keeps more to herself as she loves to play with her little people and scooby-do van, hopefully undisturbed by her sister.
Don't get me wrong she is very sweet and more likely to give you a hug or kiss. She does love her sister and when the girls nap together its always in Aubrey's bed so thats great that she's willing to share. They've also been doing better playing together I guess it just depends on the day. Have a great week everybody!
