What I did this week...

This was taken right after I got pregnant with what I later found out was twins, its the only pic I have of me asleep. Before you start to feel jealous that I got to sleep all week, let me clarify:

A. Sleep was only had in between the throws of a high temperature that caused sweating so bad it made my hair wet or being so cold I was shaking.
B. My nose is so stuffed I had to breath out of my mouth which made my mouth dry up causing my throat to hurt more.
C. While I was trying to sleep I had two two year olds laying beside me taking turns demanding a ba-ba, binkie, blankie, coughing all over me or just laying on top of me.

I bet you not jealous anymore. Have a healthy Weekend Everybody!

Message from the barely living

I got the kids colds.
I'm very, very, very sick.
Sinus pressure,
swollen glands
fever, cough,
sore throat,
body aches,
no voice,
to say I'm miesrable is an understatement. To makes matters worse, Nate's changing jobs this week, and ALL the kids are also sick. I've tried to tell myself I couldn't get sick because I had to much planned this week but it didn't matter. Special thanks to Mandy for filling in for me last minute at New Beginnings last night. I hate letting people down but I couldn't fight it. To make matters worse my fever causing me to halluncinate I woke up this morning and thought it was snowing?

Quarantine

Guess whose sick at our house. Thats right and she's miserable. Up at night, coughing, fever... She didn't want me to take a picture but I made her. She wakes me up at night for water and wet wash cloths. I still love her. She's lost her voice, I wish that would happen to her brother.
This ones sick too. They're 7 years apart but when sick not all that different. They both want their water bottle/sippy cup with them at all times. They both want their blankies. They both want to sleep in mom and dads bed and infect them. Neither of them want to take their medicine or eat much.
Aubrey fell asleep in my arms last night, its been awhile since she's done that. She didn't want her picture taken either. Between the two of them I got a couple hours of sleep last night it should make for an interesting dayGuess whose NOT sick, YET. She seems to be happier and full of more enery than usual but I'm sure its just the contrast between her and her sisters. Back to playing Nurse Mommy, is that a sore throat I feel coming on?

Just For Fun: The Mystery of the Slippers

The names and events of this story have not been changed. I owned lavender slippers for a number of years. They were cozy and fit my feet, they made me happy. One day Nate told me they were gross and he didn't want to touch them even though I occansionally washed them. So with a gift card I received for Christmas I got a new pair.
So this is where the myserty comes in. The day I brought home the slippers my old ones dissappeared. That is not unusual because I tend to take them off wherever or whenever. But I figured they would turn up because I believe things always turn up. But its been months and they haven't, they're gone. It's just so weird that it happened the day I got my new ones.
I even looked around for them in preparation for this post but they were no where to be found. These are my new ones sorry they look gross but I love my slippers and I wear them all the time.
P.S. The first two pictures have nothing to do with the story their just to add visual interest for the reader.

Keeping me Busy

The twins like to do new things just to keep me guessing and a little off my game. Currently it is to constantly go through the fridge and or the food cupboard to search for, obtain, distribute, eat and make big messes of various food items. Crackers, rasins, torillas, cereal, marshmellows, if they can find it, they want it. It's a real pain becuse in addition to the mess I can't get them to eat meals because they just wanna snack.
The return of the mysteryfever. Noah was so good and mellow at church yesterday now I know why. We've renamed it the "Noah fever." Last time the docotor said it was from his allergies causing a sinus infection resulting in the fever. He does has bad allergies but she kinda seemed like she was guessing and the recommendation was to put him on allergy medicine which we do in the spring and not a minute sooner because it's so dang expensive. Of course we are spending a fortune on childrens motrin for the fever.

Out of the mounth of...Twins

The girls are talking more and more everday and as all moms know that can be a blessing and a curse. Like when I hear Sydney say "I like it" when she climbs on top of her playset because she's having so much fun. But not when I hear her say "Aubrey did it" because Aubrey hit her or took something from her.
Aubrey likes to say "hug" followed by a tight squeeze around the neck and she's currently talking about herself in the third person. She also will tell you things like "Sydney don't" or "mine" quite loudly! Yesterday she said "Aubrey binky, go home, nite-nite time." I was really excited but she didn't really nap it was all a ploy to get her hands on a binkie.
It's becoming more and more apparent that Aubrey has anger issues. Yesterday at the Dentists office she proceeded to repeatedly hit the Doctors 4 year little girl for no other reason other than she looked at a toy Aubrey liked. I know she's two, but REALLY!

Remorse

Saturday I made a chocolate cake just for fun when I was home with the kids. I did good and didn't eat any that night but then I had some Sunday night and It made me totally sick. It wasn't even that big if a piece! You'd think I'd learned my lesson but NO, when I got up Monday morning I shoved a couple bites in while I was getting the kids ready for school and I was sick the rest of the day. Lesson Learned. While I'm still tempted I generally just feel sick looking at it.
Side note :it looks really gross in this picture but trust me its NOT!
The other night I stayed up until 2:30 finishing my book. It wasn't even that suspenseful or anything I was just enjoying the lite romance of it all. I'm not sure at what point I decide to read until its over but my remorse isn't about the lack of sleep as you might think. Its that the book is over and enjoyed reading it and why didn't I slow down and make it last longer? I always do that and now I'm left with an empty feeling.
I know I'm a complicated person!

She was right

Saturday Nate was gone all day at a fishing derby and me and the kids were home hanging out. It started as a rough day as I kinda knew it would because I was grumpy about my Saturday being like every other day. (again) The big kids were bratty about doing chores and the twins were being two and I was not happy. When Kelsey suggested she take the twins outside, notice she's dressed like its summer?
Of course I was like no because I'm too lazy to get the twins shoes, socks, and coats on. However after she kept whining about it I gave in. Like usual. It was hard getting over the fact that the girls got themselves and their clothes filthy. I love this pic Kelsey took of Noah and Aubrey.
This is Sydney, the girls squealed with delight like they hadn't swung in months (because they hadn't). After I took my shower, yes it was like 1:00 in the afternoon, I joined the kids for frolicking. We swung, played catch with the doggie and played monkey in the middle with the frisbee.
Aubrey is pouting because I wouldn't let her play with the camera. This is her new thing, big fits followed by prolonged pouting I swear her and her sister are switching places. All and all it was a great way to break up the day, we had fun and it was just what I needed to make it through the rest of the day. I hate it when your 9 year old are right.

Pictures for facebook

Apparently letters, phone, cell, texting, emails, or blogging isn't enough anymore. Now theres facebook. In my endless journey to fit in and be accepted by my peers I've recently joined. But I needed a picture. There are very few pictures of me in my past albums and even fewer that I felt worth posting. So last night before I left the house I had Nate snap some pictures. After he stopped laughing at me he said yes. This one was no good because he was sitting down and I was standing so I look like I have a double chin or two.
Noah helped with these next two, look at me trying to look all young and skinny totally oblivious to the little boy behind me. It was tricky taking the picture because I recently chopped my bangs and got them way short so it took awhile until I was satisfied the swoop before I could be photographed for all the world to see.
Isn't he precious. I went with the big hoop earrings to try and look hip. I had to force myself for a week not to pick my zits so I wouldn't have any big red marks on my face. You have no idea the effort this took.
Maybe I'll try one with my baby, take some of the focus off me. Wow, look how long her hair is. I hope I don't sound super vain in this post but it weirds me out when people I haven't seen since like high school will be seeing me, even if it is in a picture.
This is the winner. Notice how I turned slightly to the side to try and make myself look better Hey, its worth trying ok. And yes I did have Nate take a bunch so I could pick one out. I have issues ok!

My awesome foursome

The twins love playing with their big brother and sister and the great thing is Kelsey and Noah love playing with them just as much. Somehow 5 years was the magic number between Noah and the girls because he's so great with them and rarely gets mad at them. Sorry for the lack of modesty on Noah he sleeps without a shirt on.
Now Kelsey and Noah are a different story. Those two fight and it drives me crazy. You know how we got the wii for Christmas well they haven't been getting to play much because everytime they get on they argue. They really know how to push each others buttons. Oh, for those of you keeping track thats Sydney next to Kelsey as yes they are eating pizza and the floor.
I love catching them like this totally in sync like their related. They are all such great kids and each bring their own joy to our family. I always knew I wanted 4 kids. I didn't necessarily think it would happen the way it did but I really wouldn't of had it any other way!

What I see...

The weather has been so beautiful lately. Its been nice to have this to look at as I head home. Or out my rearview mirror as I escape to civilization. It seems like I've been doing a lot of driving lately to places that take me 45-1 hour to get there because I live so DANG far away. It does help to have something pretty to look at.
Its even been sunny enough to put on sunglasses. Which is an added bonus because my sunglasses are square shaped and I feel kinda like a hip Jackie O when I wear them.
The problem is that my ears are not as happy on these drives. These girls are LOUD, and demanding and it seems ecspeacially so in the car, when theres little I can do about.
They are endlessly screaming for a book, a ba-ba, a binkie, or a toy that feel on the ground. Aubrey's newsest thing is to repeatly demand to get OUT of her seat and for someone to get her BUCKLE over and over and over. They don't even fall alseep as often and they are just noisy. Whoever said silence is golden definetely had kids and probable a set of twins.
