Pioneers take over Welches Elementary

For the past 2 months our lives have revolved around Kelsey's Oregon Trail project at school. Every waking moment we've been researching, writing, knitting, or thinking about these projects. We had 6 to do at home. At school they did presentations, collages, reports, and timelines to name a few. (just to keep them busy)All of our efforts have culuminated in this event. The program at her school. All the 4/5 graders proudly displayed their projects that I have no doubt their parents spend MANY hours on. Kelsey made and I use her name loosely a covered wagon (Nate, me), crocheted with the the help of Grandma a washcloth, knitted a potholder, did a plant and animal book (10 animals, 10 plants pictures info...),a trail guide, a poster, a poem, recipe and song book, and wrote a couple pioneer poems. I'm exhausted!
They performed a readers theater and sang a bunch of songs. They all did a great job. Today the kids will be rewarded with a mystery field trip. My question where is my reward? Oh its the joy on my daughters face!?(:
She the one in the lavender towards the front. She knew all the songs and had her lines memorized. After we went to ice cream with grandma and grandpa. I'm so happy its over.

What a fun program, it looks like a lot of hard work went in to making it successful! I'm looking forward to fun projects like that:) Hope you are all feeling better, so sad they all got sick the last week of school.

what a lot of work, but a fun experience. It looks like Kelsie had a fun time.
