Headaches and Laundry

This is for Monday. My head was throbbing to hard yesterday to blog. After days of regular afternoon and evening headaches I woke up with a nasty one that refused to go away. It felt better today but the headache made another appearance this evening (I'm sure it has nothing to do with my big kids coming home, crazy dinner time and the usual family stress). I also did a bunch of laundry all day yesterday and didn't finish until today. Unlike my BFF Carrie who folds her laundry out of the dryer (whatever) my laundry goes through various stages of neglect before achieving its perfect state of wrinkles. Which is ironic becasue I like never iron, although I should. Anyway, after sitting in the dryer for what can be days it makes its way to my bed, if its lucky it will then be put away however most times it goes to the floor or a nearby chair overnight all the while continuing to grow like bad zit filled with pus, but with more clean clothes. Then it returns to my bed once again hoping to find its way home in various drawers around the house. When I had the twins my laundry doubled, which is weird because the size of my family didn't double, but the dirty clothes did By the way the glowing light on the side of my bed is my lamp not an angel reminding to get my laundry done and take a tylenol for my headache.

Oh what a night

I got my shirt made, with the help of my buds Terry and Selena. It turned out ok except for the placement of the word twighlighter was um a little low (you get the idea). Right after entertaining 10 of my chums at another rousing book club discussion we headed to the movie. We got to go sit in the theater early so we could at least sit for almost two hours while we waited for the movie to start. All in all it wasn't that bad everyone I knew was there under the age of 17 including all my Young Women and their mothers so it made for great chat time. I got to bed about 3:30am followed shortly by the twins one joined us one after another in bed. Now all I have to do is hold on until nap time when I can crash.

Oh yeah and it was Noah birthday. Everything went fine only a couple outburts. He was happy with the cake and the gifts. Today 3 of his buddies are coming over after school where we'll eat cake and go to a movie. I'm hoping for low-key event, however it may be wishful thinking.

Happy Birthday Noah

My baby boy is 7 today and he's so excited. While I love celebrating my kids birthday's, like everything else in life it tends to stress me out. I want it to be a perfect day for them so its busy wrapping gifts, baking the cake in shape of a snake, hanging balloons from his ceiling while he sleeps (aka the birthday fairy), the expensive cupcakes with the rings to school for snack, his favorite dinner, that sorta thing. To complicate things I'm also hosting book club at my house tonight and still need to make my shirt to wear to the Twilight premire at midnight (don't ask, I have issues). This morning at breakfast I told Noah it was fitting that it was raining today because the year he was born there was a record for days of rain in a row. He said that was how Heavenly Father told me to name him Noah. How adorable is that? I'm determined to make it a great day even if Sydney cries all day again and wants me to sit with her on the couch.

Some things don't changed

Case in point...now that the twins can climb out of their cribs I'll often find them napping together in the same bed. When they were babies they didn't sleep together very long because they tended to hit and squish each other. Once again..since they can climb out of their cribs now they both come climb in my bed at night. We put them in the middle of Nate and I so they won't fall off the bed. Just like when they were little it doesn't work very well becasuse they roll around on each other and once again hit each each other but this time its on purpose as they fight for space. For those of you Perry twin buffs out there Aubrey's on your left in the pink.

Finding joy in my journey?

A couple of my fellow blog mates have already commented on this topic so I hesitate to belabor the point but its something I thought about ever since our wonderful Prophet talked about it conference. Finding joy in my journey is definetely something I struggle with. Sadly, I have to constantly remind myself just how luckly I am. I have to remind myself that this crazy timein my life will not be forever, and that this is my "season" to be "the mom", and most of the time I'm ok with that.
Other times I stuggle. So I'm gonna do my best to enjoy the moment, apprecieate the little things ,and not take so much granted. I wish I could tattoo "find joy in you journey" all over my body, but until then I'll do my best to be positive. Because even though I keep getting calls from the school about my son's behavior, or the twins continue to trash the house, and keep me from getting a good nights sleep and yes even Kelsey can be demanding, with a know it all attitude. I really do love them all and I wouldn't trade them for the world!

Brat Mode

Brat Mode: A condition commonly characterized by ongoing grumpiness, rudness, irritalibity, reoccuring defience, and general disobedience. It can also be coupled with frequent and unprovoked outbursts, and agressive behavior towards others. Those who suffer from this disorder can be afflicted for brief or long periods of time always at the detriment of those around them. In rare cases sleep walking and night terrors can result or cause this disorder.

Recomendations include but are not limited to: Time outs, increased chores, grounding, verbal reprimands, and when necessary a brief swat on the rear. Caretakers may feel the need to: take extra naps, eat more food and chocolate, cry in closests, pull their hair out, increase medication, or leave the home for extended periods of time. If none of the above are effective, and if all else fails...get on your knees and PRAY.
