In an obvious attempt to impress you with my productivity I'm once again chronicling my weekly project. This latern used to be white with blue and brown accents. yes it was pretty. But I've recently decided to redo or do somthing with the HUGE area above my kitchen cupboards and decided I needed a black latern. So I shopped various locations in the Gresham area only to be discourage by the fact that I'd indeed have to pay above 10$ for said latern. Then the idea came to me...paint the one you have.

I already had the other stuff so I matched the candle to coordinate. I was a little nervous at first because it took some tricky painting on my part but it actually turned out really good. I aged it and sprayed it and this is what I came up with. The decor is still a work in progress but I'm taking baby steps.

After returning from taking the kids to school I heard my dog barking like crazy. Sadly this is not unusual. I yelled at him to quiet down which he did only to start up again. He was on the trampoline reaping havoc on my once nice looking liner. Once again I yelled at him to stop and called him over to further rebuke him which he disobeyed. Again, not uncommon. After a brief reprieve, he continued barking obnoxioulsy. By then I'd had it, along with the city of Brightwood so I went out there. Thinking he couldn't get off the trampoline I proceeded to encourage him off, but then saw the reason for the barking. His leg was wrapped around the rope stuff that ties the saftey netting to the side of the tramp. So after getting my spastic dog to settle down long enough that I could unwrap it he was free. How did he repay me...by attacking me...jumping up on me, clawing me with his sharp claws (do dogs have claws?), making me stink and covering me in doggy slime. Your Welcome Dash I Love you.

Way to go Kelly! :D On both feats! :D How do you fit Mom, calling, and everything else, as well as a K-9 rescuer and reducing your eco-footprint by improving something you already had?!
You give lessons? lol :D
Seriously...very cool job with the lantern!!
Very cute Kelly! (the dog) And I'm so proud of you for using what you had!
Great lantern, I've seen those black lanterns at stores and admired them too! It's so fun to use your creativity and turn something old into something new and fun to look at! Plus it means more when you know you put hard work into it. Love it!
