What I did this week

With the kids back in school do you think I worked on some project I'd been meaning to get to, or did a bunch or cleaning or perhaps ran some errands. No nothing that meaningful or productive. I redid the kids job charts. In my endless and ongoing quest to make my children productive citizens I cycle through various forms of motivation. Above is the Perry Bucks chart, inspired by my BFF's Amdollars (last name Amdal). They received Perry bucks for chores and other positive behavior. Noah loved this and wants to bring it back however I didn't love it and I felt the kids needed somthing more immediate.
Here are my Marble Jars inspired by yet another BFF. These have been a staple in the home for years. I used to have increments going up the jarso as they worked their way up they got rewards. Then it was halfway up a medium reward then when full they got big one. But once again I'm tired of the marbles and I want somthing more immediate. Plus they just got a bunch of stuff for Christmas. I don't feel like getting them anymore ok?
Enter..my new toy. Nate got it for me for Chrismtas. I'm still not really sure what I'll use it for, orginally I thought I'd just use it for handouts in YW. It is a little laminator, sticker maker and magnet maker. Its very fun.
Here are my new charts, the kids alternate roatations each week. What did I spend the week doing you ask. Typing them up and adding the fun pictures.
Here's there everyday stuff. With the recent aquisition of the WII I thought it'd be a perfect time to reintroduce chores. I start out at the beginning of the school year all pumped up and by Christmas ther are a thing of the past. I'm notoriously inconsistent, but I'm trying. Anyway they gotta get this stuff done before they play computer or the WII. If they don't they lose privileges and bed early. (once again thanks for the ideas Carrie)

Here is my new reward system. A star a day for chores and positive behavior. If they get 10 stars they get to pick from the rewards on the right. Everything is very visual for motivation. It's all laminated with a magnet on the back so it can go on the fridge or whatever thanks to my new gadget. We'll see how long this lasts before I start somthing new again but for now I like it, its working and I'm quite proud of my hard work!
P.S Wendy I'm not doing an Aubrey post, sorry, but I just don't feel like it, maybe next week.
Have a great weekend everybody!!!!!

Your chart looks magnificent. Perhaps the glenn family gift for everyone next year(like Sarah does) - or someone specials upcoming Birthday. Very nice.
And we will be watching for Aubrey.

Wow, what a lot of work; those are great charts and very motivational for the kids! It makes me want to get back on track with my reward charts, I used to have a reward chart and need to bring it back. Maybe then they would'nt complain as much when I ask them to do something! Thanks for the inspiration.
